VIES validation
EU VAT number verification
VIES (VAT Information Exchange System) is the European Union's VAT number verification system. ControlliQ automatically checks partners' EU VAT numbers.
How does it work?
•When a partner has an EU VAT number, the system automatically queries the VIES system.
•The verification result appears on the partner's detail page: valid or invalid community VAT number.
•The system stores the date and result of the verification.
When is it useful?
VIES validation is particularly important in EU trade, where community taxpayer status determines VAT handling. For accountants, this automates an otherwise manual verification process.
